Default Fog Lights Question

I recently purchased a 2000 Mustang Gt. I noticed that the little LED indicator in the switch does not come on and I have no fog lights. I crawled under the front and saw one wire not even plugged in and the other one was hanging out with the remains of a broken bulb stuck in. I'll clean it all up and put in new bulbs. My question though is I can not locate where the fuse might be if that also is the problem in the end. I looked in the book and they list a relay under the hood....is that it? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks....Jeff

It might be blown, so take it to Rado Shack and have it tested if you don't know how. I have some info on fog lights and modification, so peep ***THIS*** thread.

Thank You for the info. I also noticed the LED in the Traction Control switch doesn't work, but the switch itself does toggle the feature in and out. Soooo, probably will pick up a new switch for that. Saw some on-line for about $30-35 bucks....so not too bad I guess. Thanks Again....Jeff

The fog lamps are powered by fuse #27 in the battery junction box (under the hood by the battery)--they are the only thing powered by that fuse.

Thanks! I'll be sure to check that fuse if they don't work when I am done.

Yes I did. I cleaned up the connectors that were either hanging out or had a broken bulb. Put in new bulbs, ( 899) pulled #27 fuse and checked ( good) pulled the relay and bench tested it (good), took the switch out and took it apart and bench tested it. Contacts were good but both the little bulbs for illumination and indication of (fog lights on) were burned out. Replaced both bulbs, put all back together and all works well. I would guess any problems with the fog lights would be in the above area's unless a mouse chew got to something.....Good Luck!
