Supercharger or....

Yes they are. A 1.7 intercooled is $4900 I believe. You will need the intercooler to safely get the max boost out of your GT Which happens to be 9 PSI for stock internals. I would do the kenne bell if you want speed. But, now I hear centifugals are better for the strip. The way it goes is, a kenne bell will FEEL faster (torque curve) but a centifugal will BE faster (more hp throughout the entie RPM range.) You will also need an exhaust with that because of the amount of exhast gases with the new s/c. Also, you mentioned sport springs, but you want this to be a 1/4 mile car, why not get drag springs?

I'd go s/c first and then add the other a little at a time as you save the money. The KB's are very nice, but pricey. The whole setup with supporting fuel mods is more than $4,000, no?

I thought it was the other way around... I thought centrifugal didn't gain full boost until closer to 3k rpms, whereas the kenne bell produced boost throughtout the curve... ah well
Bickety - I notice your numbers went up... NICE!

I’d probably go with the SC, but as many have pointed out, to do it right, the road to a SC is long and expensive (but that’s not to say that you cannot just slap one on a fully stock vehicle and upgrade as you have the ca$h).

RE: Supercharger or....
also install will cost u along with a dyno tune which runs over $500
Do wut i did. the first year i did every mod i could to set up for the s/c and the next year blow your engine
catless exhaust, cat back, mayb headers(if yea have the $$$), 3.73 gears, short throw, tb, plenum, etc....
dont work backwards ex// 4.10s when ur going to s/c ur engine the next year.

RE: Supercharger or....
thanks for advice. I wanted to do what DVS99GT did and get ready for a supercharger then add it on. Ide like to have good 1/4 mile times. But I mainly want to have fun on the street. Thats why I wanted to go with a KB s/c because it has power all around and a lot of torque

RE: Supercharger or....
as BicketyBam said suspension is very important control arms are only a 250 or so for uppers and lowers they will go along ways at keeping ur rearend straight under that low end toque. keep in mind also that you will want to upgrade you clutch pretty soon after the install it deffiently wont last long. but in the end go with the KB

I would have used this example: Getting underdrive pulleys when you are going to s/c your engine.
