Default STICKY CALIPERS

My brother has a 2001 Mustang GT and from new the front calipers put pressure on the discs so you could hardly spin the tire while jacked up.My other brother put them on his '94 Cobra Pro Street car, same thing so he got new calipers, they still drag. What causes this? and whats the cheapest way to fix it?

Sometimes the pistons on calipers freeze which is probably what is happening in your case. The options are to rebuild the caliper and replace the psitons or get new caliper.

You could try finding a junked mustang and getting those calipers. That is probably your cheapest bet.

There is always some slight drag on the rotors from the pads. As long as it's not pulling from one side and the brakes aren't getting hot, and wearing quickly, there should be no problems. But, if you can't turn the wheel, with the car up in the air, that may be a problem.

99 till about 03 have a horrible tendency for the soft line to collapse and lock up the calipers. Change the rubber pressure hose and I will "gar-un-tee" it will fix the problems

It even happened to my 03.

what he said. Always check the lines before you slam calipers on it, and even when you replace calipers its always good to replace the lines as well. I've been burned before on a collapsed line I thought was a caliper problem

Bad hub is the only thing I can think of, assuming the rest of the hydraulics in the brake system are good
