Default Rebuild my T-45 or upgrade?

Assume that I am under the mindset that I will never get rid of my Stang. With that said...

My overall switch will be to throw in a DOHC 4.6 instead of my single (thought this would be the easiest/cheapest then throwing in a bigger block). I am wanting to know how to go about this tranny. I WANT to get 450 hp to the wheels as a final goal. Can the T-45 handle it if I put in all new upgraded parts an work with the DOHC 4.6? Thank ya!

not sure why you're bothering with a 4v swap if you only want 450whp lols.

Are you calling me a noobie? You don't have a 289 2v btw lol.

You have a modular 281 4.6L 2v.

Your motor as is can handle in the low 400s to the wheels, just get a decent blower and have fun with it.

If you get bored build the bottom end and turn up the boost, a lot of people on this site are over 400whp on 2vs and a few are up over 500.

lenco trans i wish... lol
TKO or T56 is really only option for "upgrade"... that or a built auto.

and with a built 2v and headwork, the limiting factor is the plastic intake, which someone with 22lbs of turbo boost, MHS stage 2 heads, stage 2 turbo cams made 671 rwhp...

i cant wait to see when my 3650 goes ka-boom. but for now, i gotta pay off the loan for my motor
