What about you're fuel system, is it operating correctly, almost sounds like you're fuel is shutting down. Strange

OK, now you are pissing me off--WTF is it with this "in-your-face" attitude? Have we met before and I ticked you off-what's the deal?

I said " it sounds like spark blowout", which often occurs only at the higher loads associated with higher gears--this has nothing to do with boost or no boost, it's combustion chamber pressures, swirl velocities, and a number of other factors. Have you ever read Heywood or Taylor?

Also note that I said "It sounds like", I did NOT proclaim that as the problem.

I have no idea what this means--explain?

Wow, not sure where all the hate is coming from vulture54, I think cliffyk has a very good point, he has more knowledge and has probably helped more people on this site than anyone else. He may or may not be right in this case, but your dumbass sure as hell doesn't know. For you to criticize only shows ignorance on your part. Your posts don't even make sense! I think I know what your trying to say, but you are to vague in your responses.

I think my point is that spark plug blowout is associated with a load...he said he can't even use 4th or 5th...no load, no blow out...o yeah cliff, and I don't know you, but I'd think a tech wouldn't even produce such a diagnosis given the facts of the post

by the way 2000gt, blow me, I'm glad your coming to bat for your boyfriend and all, why don't you help solve the ****in problem.

You said in you original posting that the engine bogs down in 5th "right around 2300 rpm". Does the engine speed continue to increase beyond 2300 rpm (somewhat rapidly), but the vehicle speed does not increase proportionally?

That would be the clutch slipping...
