Default Yet another speeometer issue...

I didn't post in SVT forums because this could apply to any SN95 mustang. So here's the deal. Sometimes while driving the speedometer just does whatever it wants... usually it just reads slow or not at all. Sometimes it will read fast. It moves proportionally when speeding up and slowing down most of the time, but its just plain wrong. I can tap on the cluster with my knuckle and it will jump back to being correct. This sometimes fixes it fo the entire day, other times it will screw up again in 5 seconds. Anyway, I am sure its in the cluster b/c the cruise still functions fine, plus tapping on the cluster has no effect on the speed sensor. I have heard of this happening before, but never heard of the repair for it. I don't want to get another cluster b/c my car has relatively low miles plus its the White faced Cobra Gauges so another one would be kinda hard to find. Any idea on what I need to do to fix it?

I have heard of people having the same issue. I had the same issue with a cluster in a civic. All i did was pull the cluster out and resolder all the solder joints. Alot of times the joints will crack and cause bad connection and that is where your problem likely lies.
