Stalling issue
Hello, i am having an issue with my 96 cobra. I have had a problem at time when starting my car and idling. When i first start it, it wil turn over, but the RPM drop right away and the car stalls. It does not have any issue running if you keep your foot ont he gas and keep the RPM up, as soon as you take your foot off, they drop and it stalls. I asked the mechaninc i normally have work on my cars and he suggested and air flow issue because i am not really expierncing any permformance issues or possibly the idle control motor. A friend has also suggested a new fuel filter, which i plan to try some time this weekend or early next week, as well as clean the idle control motor. Along with the stalling i have also noticed, occasional rough idle and (i will try and descrive this as best i can) when i start the car at times it feels like pulls to the cd, almost like the torque of the car is pulling, and the car shimmys for a second. This relatively recent. Any suggestions on any of these problems (i am guessing they are all related) would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Stalling issue
Well, I have a '98 Cobra which, as I'm sure you know, is basically the same car. I did have a very similar problem a few years back, and it turned out that my timing chain tensioner was slipping. I did not diagnose this; Ford did. Another time I was having a similar problem and I was like, NOT THIS CRAP AGAIN. But no, the insulation on my plug wires had worn off and they were "crossfiring". I'm not sure if this helps you at all, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in.
