its most likely a lift cylinder, if you take out the rear seat bottom you will see which side it will be. there should be some hydrolic fluid on one side or the other,, that will tell you the bad side. where are you in florida ? i am in tarpon springs , clearwater area. i will send you a PM with my shop number, call me and i will tell you haow to fix it.

thanks man. i'm in the Orlando / Apopka area. a check of local ford and auto supply shows no availabilty on the lift cylinder. anyone have a good source for this part?? also need a good source for the camber/caster adj plate if anyone knows of one. thanks again for the help.

let me know if you want to do something cool with it , i do alot of custom bikes in my area. did you get thet part you need ? if you need some help let me know.
