Default T45 reverse problems

I've read a bunch of threads about 99 - 01 GTs having reverse issues (grinding, forcing, etc) and I'm wondering, is there any way to remedy this problem without getting a new transmission? I was aware of this problem when I bought it, and it sometimes is a pain to have to shift to another gear just to get reversed freed up. I still love my car to death and if it is what it is, I get it. I was just curious if anyone's ever found a fix for this.

I don't mean to be flippant, however the only two viable alternatives to a new transmission are to get a rebuilt unit, or rebuild it yourself--that's about it...

have you tried shifting into 3rd before you put it into R? some people go 5th than R. I have always done this and almost never have a problem getting into Rev.

I usually shift into 1st. That sometimes helps. But there are times my shifter won't budge unit I pump the brake or double clutch.

Mine has trouble going into reverse; I just put it in 1st and then back to reverse and it goes in. I just think of it as the nature of the beast. It shifts fine in every other way...

i dont think reverse is synchronized like on jap cars, therefore you have to put it in 1st gear before reverse. thats the nature of the beast.
