The first thing I would get (and especially since you have a convertible) is a pair of full length weld-in subframe connectors. The Maximum Motorsports ones are an excellent choice. This will stiffen up your chassis a lot for the future and it is especially important since you have a convertible and it looks like you are into drag racing and will eventually build your setup to launch harder and harder.

Since the car is an auto, other suspension upgrades might not help much at this point since you can only launch so hardly on a stock auto with street radials. But hopefully the other peeps with autos can chime in here.

Seems like you have all the basic bolt ons for a 2V. If you are more performance minded and are into drag racing, you would be better off with 4.10s than 3.73s especially in an auto car.

How many times have you run around your best time so far? I guess what i'm asking is have you ran 14.3s repetitively enough to feel it is the best your car is capable of as it currently sits? Have you done any basic weight reduction mods? Next time you go out, take out your spare tire and jack from your trunk. You can also remove your front sway bar if you are inclined enough. Also air up your front tires to the near max to minimize rolling resistance. Every little bit will help.

Great Info. Will full length weld-in subframe connectors help my ET? I understand what it does and looks like most conv have them. Thanks for that info didnt really look into those.

Now the last time I went out to the strip I ran 13.3 13.4 and 13.3. But the track was not prepped the best. It had been raining the whole week. I did take out the tire and jack but didnt mess with the sway bar. I will try that next time. Any other lil weight reductions???

Well, I can certainly hook you up on suspension, and our Elite Series control arms are THE BEST street style control arms. They're only $179 for the set of four with a lifetime guarantee using the MF.com discount code.

But before we get too far into that... what does the car do now? Does it spin on the hit or does it bog? A 2.00 sixty foot time is all you need to drop down to the 13.90s and that's certainly attainable on 275 street tires.

Very interested in ur control arms. I was looking at the American Muscle ones but sounds like you have a good deal.

The car right now is spinning. Its an automatic so it doesn't bog at all. The last time I went to the track it was a lil moist and I know that didnt help. But it seem like I was spinning also in first to second gear. The tires are brand new and I think they should be good enough to handle my mods. The car is 255rwhp. Do you know if the control arms are what I need?
Thanks for the feed back.

The two biggest upgrades you can do for traction on a stockish Mustang are sticky tires and upgraded control arms.

If you do the UPR Products control arms, they'll transfer weight much better than the factory arms, and a set of sticky tires (like the Nitto NT05Rs) will seal the deal. I don't know if drag radials are practical for you or if you could put some on a second pair of tires, but these two mods would give you major traction. At that point, if you added a torque converter, you will have made a DRAMATIC improvement in your quarter mile times, by way of a major reduction in 60-foot times. (I'd put you around a 13.2 in the quarter with a 1.69 60-foot time on the control arms, tires, and torque converter)

Well I just purchased these (Nitto Street radials) tires so ill be waiting a little to buy a new pair. My goal at the moment is 13.9 and at 13.5 I will need a roll bar because the car is vert. Im looking for a cheaper up grade and the converter is ALOT but im sure it would be a big help. The BIG question is will just the control arms get me in that 13.9?? I know you guys cant predict but will it be that big of an improvement off the line?
