Default 1997 GT -Three heater cores since May this year ?

I have a '97 GT 4.6 Conv 5 spd. Any ideas what could cause three heater cores to go out since May. It has 117,000 miles and runs great-very perplexing....leaking into the heater case.

are you using the aftermarket or factory replacement. I was using aftermarket cores and went thru 2 of them in 2 months on my Crown Vic, switched to OEM part and been problem free for 3 years...

There are two TSBs relative to this:

TSB 01-15-6 Repeated Heater Core Failures--this targets '85 to '02 Mustangs (and others);

and,

TSB 06-21-19 Heater Core Leakage and Electrolysis--targeting '97 to '07 Mustangs...

================================================== ====
BTW: Most aftermarket parts are made by the same manufacturers as are OEM parts--in many instances EXACTLY the same manufacturer...

Thanks, Cliff, for the info. Will have it checked prior to the new heater installation/use.
