Default Auto tranny need opinon please

i am just have my tranny rebuilt because the overdrive went out on it and am putting a 2500 stall on it . i have been seeing people that are having their programer lock up the converter when they are at the track. does this really help out or is it not worth it. any help on this subject would be great.

well all my camaro buddies are riunning 11s and under alot run stalls, they converted from there manuels, they say it makes a huge diffrence on time, so it will improve your time and response for sure, i think its worth it, personaly i dont want one because i like the idea of having manuel even if it makes me slower

You don't want the converter to lock up at the track, the slip in the looser converter is what helps out. Lock up is nice when cruising as cuts down on the heat and helps with milage, it essentally like have a 5 speed car in 5th gear. You can change the point at which it locks up, and maybe it would help to lock it up once the trans shifts into third at the track but I never heard of anyone actually doing this.
