Default Traction Control: Stuck On

My '99 which has roughly 107,000 miles is unable to disable traction control.

I'm not throwing any codes, and for the most part the car seems to be running well.

It has happened occasionally that I'll have an ABS light on and the TC will be off (not recently) but I assume this is a wheel sensor or soemthing, and when the ABS light comes on, TC is always disabled.

I simply press the TC button behind the shifter and it won't turn off.
Anyone else had this, or know a remedy?

Have you tested to make sure it is still on? My bulb took a **** (or a plug is ****ed), but mine can still be turned off.

sounds like the connector to the button may have come loose...or a frayed wire. i'd check that first.

I'm certain it's not disabling.

No lights are on, and the system still kills the car under any slippage.

Makes it a pain in the *** to accelerate from any unlevel intersection.

I suppose I'll pop off the plastic cover and see if anything looks bad.

Edit: I mean now that it's snowing.

I have much better luck w/o TC in any accumulation.

Check all your fuses under the dash and under the hood. Replace any of the fuses that are blown.
