Default Intermittent failure to start

I have a 4.6 with 58k miles

Every now and then when I start the car it will fire up but immediately idle very very slow and quit. tonight it did it 2x in a row.

It doesn't happen all the time and it doesn't appear to be related to engine temp.

No SES light and no other signs of problems

Any thoughts on what may cause this and what I can do to correct it? I was thinking injector cleaner.

Engine cold or outside cold?

Its under 35 degrees here now. Mine seems to do it either when the engine is cold from say an overnight parking, but it also sometimes does it after I drive across town, fill up with gas and try to restart the car.

99.44% of idle problems are Idle Air Control valve related--they call it that because that's what it does...

Some have reported success cleaning it with TB cleaner, however most often that is at best a temporary fix.
