If not.. then Id go the route I suggested.
Yea I guess your right. I've found a couple nice gt's with vortech's and prochargers for 10-12k If It was me I would put the extra 5k towards a 03/04 cobra or supercharged Mach 1. Just my opinion. But the OP should choose what he likes.

Thanks for all the advice guys! I have been looking out here... seems like Cobras are running a premium here - $25k is about the average asking price on CL in my area. I also share the concern with a high mileage FI car... I haven't seen very many Cobras out there with more than 100k that aren't already on a rebuild.

While I know that a lot of setups are safe for a lot of miles, (Chasen seems to have one) I would like to know the real history of the car before taking on an FI car with more than about 60k.

I am kinda leaning towards a Mach, just cause I like the shaker hood, and the 4v makes a nice little distinction over a standard GT! BTW, while I am thinking of it, what suspension differences are there with the Mach vs GT (01-04)?

The Mach 1 springs and shocks sit a little lower than the GT's. Also the Mach 1 springs have a higher spring rate. The mach 1 stock has better option suspension than the stock GT. with a little bit better ride and better stance.
