Fuel Pressure Question
I have an "01" with a 4.6L motor that is totaly stock. I am switching the fuel system to a return style system, so what pressure should I adjust the regulator for and should that be the pressure at idle as well at high RPM?
Thanks
Thanks
It should be set to 39 psi with the pump running engine off, or with the engine running and the vacuum line disconnected and plugged.
I realise you didn't ask this, but why? Just to degrade the performance¹, bragging rights, or because you have much grander plans down the road?
---------------------------------------------------
¹ - The significant advantage of the returnless system is that the fuel delivered to the rails as needed and is therefore cooler than fuel which has been run up into the engine compartment, and then back to the tank over and over--cooler fuel (and air, and most everything) is almost always better. On a stock, or nearly any n/a setup, engine the returnless system is better...
