Default Surging Issue help

Hey guys,

Looking for some input/ideas. I brought the car home today because I have my meth tune setup for next weekend. Bought new TR6's that I was going to put fresh ones in before the tune. Well, we pull all the plugs out and everything is burning perfectly. We gap the new ones just as the old ones were, put the new ones in and fire the car up. The car is surging badly at idle pretty much at 700 rpms - 1500 rpms. We turned the car right off, and pulled the plugs. They were pitch black, rich. We put the original plugs back in the car (which I just drove the car home 25 minutes) and fired it up. Same thing, fouled these plugs out too all black. We checked all our vacuum lines, hoses, etc and everything is connected. We are pretty stumped as to what could be causing this issue right before my meth tune is coming up. Anybody have any ideas?

traced down the issue a bit more. So it seems like changing the plugs was just a coincidence with the whole surging issue. We than realized that I just recently put the Mondo valve on swapping from the mini race that I had. Now, I probably drove the car for 20 miles since the mondo valve has been on, but never thought anything of it. So when starting the car up, with the vacuum line connected to the valve it just stalls. The first thing we did was check to make sure we had a vacuum, which we did. Pretty strong vacuum coming from manifold line to valve. We put a nut in the vacuum line, started the car up and it ran perfect, holding about 18-20" vacuum. we connected the line to the valve, and what do you know...a/f all over the place, the car stalls, surges from 12-18" vacuum, idles from 700-1500 rpms. We didnt mess with any settings on the valve since I bought it, and I bought it brand new. Does anybody have any experiences with the mondo valve? Is it possible something is jammed inside the valve not letting it close under acceleration? Possibly do I need to adjust the nut?

well, Vortech claims 1 in every 10000 valves is actually faulty at the diaphram, and thats what it appears it is. The valve itself. I put my vacuum pressure gauge to the valve, pump it up to 3-5" vacuum, and what do you know it seeps down and doesnt hold pressure. It seems as though the valve is faulty, I ordered a new one this evening and hopefully just a new valve will solve the issue
