and the build begins, but first i need some help
just got my car back from having comp cam 270's put in, and thanks to the shops advice on putting in new lifters, my motor sounds like complete s***. above 60 mph, idk if its the lifters (cause idk much about this kinda stuff) but something sounds like hundreds of little things wanting to get out from under my valve covers. Either above 60 mph or ANY time i stomp on it, it automatically starts in and annoys/scares me. Can someone try and help explain this to me? cause im still learning all about the internals of the 4.6
Plus im planning on doing forged internals from d.s.s. racing, any good/bad things about em?
-overall, i need advice on where to go from this point. i have full bolt on's and, as i mentioned, brand new installed comp cams and its just not cutting it for me.

If your hydraulic lifters/rockers were not filled with oil before installation they would make quite a racket until they pumped up, but that shouldn't last more than a few minutes of running time. This would be noisier at lower RPMs and quieter at higher RPMs.
It could be noisy if one of the cams was a tooth off on the timing, but that is unlikely from a good shop, but mistakes do happen.
It could be detonation, if it is, you have to get to a tuner quickly before you do damage to your internals. This should be quiet when the engine is not loaded but noisier when the engine is under load (accelerating). This might be the most likely possibility.
Maybe these cams require a special tune?
I don't know anything about the engine you are running.
Is there different combinations of rocker arms & valve heights available for it?
Is there a special rocker required for your particular cam?
If it isn't detonation and it isn't cam timing, then there is either an excessive gap between the cam & rocker arm or the rocker arm & valve stem.
I would contact the Customer Service dept of your cam manufacturer to start, they should be able to help you with a list of most-likely to least-likely possibilities.
