Electrical issue..maybe alternator?
Help!
Went to go to work today, got into car, fired up as normal, no problems....when BAM! Car shuts down totally. Now when I try to start it, car goes dead. All electrical gone for a few seconds, then it comes back on. Starter will not turn at all. I still have enough power from the battery to power the headlights, all the interior lights, etc...so I do not think it is a alternator problem. Possibly the starter? But the issue with losing all electrical leads me to believe there is some sort of ground issue.
Its 530a here, so I do not have enough light to look under the hood and see what is going on yet. I have to wait to get a tow truck and have it taken to the closest shop.
Edit: Got alternator off. Just gotta get myself awake enough to make the 2 mi walk each way to the closest parts store and have em test the alt. I hope its not the battery. Not only do I not wanna lug it 2 miles, that thing is only 4 months old.
