that rebulid probably includes alot of new parts though, what that guy quoted you was for a POS rear end with 100k on it. considering i can get gears for 180 (new), a rebuild kit for 75(all new, including bearings), that leaves another 700+ for a differential and labor, assuming the 975 price quoted above.. so what he quoted you was probably just a transplant from a garbage car that will last like a year then you'll have the same thing.

edit: just found a brand new ford Traction-Lok for $200. so that leaves 500 for install.

and i just saw you posted he wanted what like 250 or 275 for labor?
buy the parts seperately, drop em on his face and tell him to get to work. lol
