Default dilemma what should I do

Hey guys! Mustang is a 97 gt with 160k miles (highway) on it. Started leaking coolant and saw I had the same problem everyone else has, the intake cracked. So what do I do, just replace the crazy expensive intake with a factory intake, do the PI swap, or drop a new engine and maybe trans? How long do the 97 gt trans last? I would like to get some more power!
Thanks!

pi swap is the most obvious to me, unless theres other things wrong with the engine there's no real reason to have to swap it out

Its only an intake manifold its not the end of the world, if you low on funds just get a cheap replacement. If you think a replacement intake manifold is crazy expensive, then don't even look up a PI swap.

I agree. If you think an intake is expensive dont even think of a new engine or trans either. you can make more power still but you take steps before you run. unless you have deep pockets.

Well the engine has been really burning through oil recently so thats why I am wondering about a swap.

I dont mean the intake is crazy expensive (called around local $700) but if im going to spend that much to replace the factory intake manifold it would be more beneficial to do the PI swap or something else.

Just trying to get some advice.

My intake cracked too. my replacement has metal housing around the thermostat so it wont happen again.
