Default installed aftermarket headunit with mach460 - volume is now very low..

I installed an Alpine IDA-X001 headunit with the Metra 70-5510 into my 2000 GT with the stock Mach460 amps/speakers.

The volume has decreased significantly compared to the OEM mach460 headunit. I suspect there is a voltage issue (the Alpine headunit uses 2v preouts).

Has anyone had this issue? Anything I should look at fixing? I wired everything correctly, however I did ground the headunit through the harness and not directly to any metal besides it.

I know there is a special wire connection you need to get for the Mach radios... I had to have one for my 98. Not sure if the same thing is needed.. I got it with my head unit from Crutchfield.

that is for 1989-2000 so not sure if that helps or not

Weird, my JVC unit works just fine with my mach 460 using only the adapter harness. Then again, maybe it's different for the later years.

there is a loudness setting on some head units. low med and high. I keep my pioneer on MED and the vol at 21 is about as loud as you can stand. with it set on Low youd have to crank it to 40 - 50. This new head unit you have may not have that setting called "loundess" is your unit loud when cranked up ALLL the way? it will be low by defaulty i assume

Guys, I got the USB drive to work on it and the volume off of the mp3s is back to normal - looks like the FM radio is for some reason a lot lower.
