98 mustang gt wont crank, please help!!!!
The clicking in your fender is telling you something is yet to be connected. Or connected wrong. I had the same sound after my install. Electrical no doubt. I forget exactly what the fix was. But i missed something. My dad may remember what it was. If i find out for sure ill hit you back. But your getting closer. I still say another ground.
Edit: the problem of the clicking in the fender was an improper ground. For sure. Remember the grounds and what your grounding too needs to be cleaned and touching fresh bare metal to something that is to the frame or other serious body parts.

ran a hot wire to the pink and white ignition wire in the wiring harness...the stupid thing is running and running really well at that. but i still cant crank it from the key, it primes the fuel pump, and ignition cycle and all the lights, but wont crank the starter. has new ignition starter switch and keys reprogrammed by ford but this thing acts all weird. turn the key on the first time and the the theft light blinks and doest prime anything, wait til it stops blinking, turn the key back, then over again and it goes solid then off like normal and can start it via hot wire. wtf!!!!!!!!!!
got it started by running a hotwire to the white and pink wire in the main harness under the hood. didnt work under the dash, key primes the fuel pump and ignition but still doesnt turn motor over, new fuses and relays, new ignition starter switch, keys recoded by ford...when i first turn the key on the theft light flashes, after it goes off i turn the key back then over again and the light goes solid then off and i can start the car via hotwire. any ideas why i still cant start it from the switch? if not can i hook up a switch or push button to start it from the inside? wont start without the key so not like anyone can steal it...that rag i was talking about in my first post is sounding really good right now.lol
hey disposablehero27 thanks for that post, gnna go out and check em again. i didnt sand anything so maybe thats it. i did have to get a new stud for the motor mount, the other one was rusted prtty bad. when i turn the car on via hotwire it sounds great, not running ruff or anything, just cant get it to start from the switch. the only ground strap going to the frame is the one going from the driver side motor mount(red) is that the only one?
