Thanks everyone for the detailed info. So this is where i am right now.
I have a loose terminal on the starter solenoid, a broken tab on the connector for the stator wire, a multimeter that has decided to spit out erroneous numbers.
Have everything apart, getting ready for a new trans, so i will go through everything while it is on stands.
