down shifting is fine for the car, just match the revs up a bit with some heal toe action. no wear on the engine or the drive line, if you do it right.

I do it everytime. I also did it in my other car until I sold it. Never any problems with the transmission in either.

i double clutch and rev match when i downshift...
so what exactly is double clutching and what does it do. I know a lot of racers do it but why on a street car?

down shifting wont hurt your car as long as you do it right, people that put it in the gear they want and let the clutch out that is hard on it, you need to match your rpms with your speed and the gear you are going to, i down shift everytime im comming to a stop, one it sounds kool and to i love it. like i down from 4th to 3rd then from 3rd when your rpm is like 3-4k i down 2nd fast and your rpms are like 4-5k that makes eveyone look. the sound of a 302 is so nice lol

Its pushing the clutch, shift to neutral, releasing the clutch, push it in again, shift to another gear, then releasing it again. I believe that's how they shifted before synchros came about.
