Default Running like s***

At ideal the car sounds like it has cams in it, but it dose not. The ideal is moving from 800 to 1,000rpm. It should read 1,000rpm. If I come to a stop, it goes down to 400rpm and I can put my foot on the gas pedal to the floor and nothing. About 20 secants later it goes up to 1,000 and shacks. The car is shacking like crazy. The motor is shacking and the fuel gauge is moving from 25 to 35 psi. It should be at 30psi. I give it a little gas and it smooths right out. What could it be? I think is a one the ideal sensors. I for got how to check for codes. Something to do with the holding down the trip as you turn the key. It gives me all this stuff but I do not know what it means. Where can I find out what is means? It looks like it mite have 4 code but I'm not shore till I know what I'm looking at.

Thanks, Mike

check to see if you have vaccuum. You might have a loose line, or leaking line

That's the first thing I checked. All the lines are nice and tight and are not leaking. Thanks though

I found how to read the trip. It's at http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/fcar/dtcodes.htm
I'm getting one code. It's dtc5284 an oil pressure switch failure. Would that be my problem or is that something different.

I need some help, I do not know if I should drive the car.

anybody, Mike

My f150 5.4 had the exact same symptoms. It was a clogged fuel filter. Check it out, they are relatively cheap. Hope this helps.

I just changed the fuel fiter last year. It has like 3,000 miles on it. I do not think it would be that.

here ya go mike, there is a link to how to install an aftermarket gauge with keeping the stock sensor in place. replace your stock sensor and install a aftermarket one for piece of mind.

Yes I have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. It's reads fine, when the motor is shacking at ideal the oil gauge reads 30psi. That's what it allways reads. So I guess the the code is bull s*** for the oil pressure switch failure. I drove the car yesterday, I started it up and it ran fine. It stayed at 1,200rpm as it warmed up, no shacking. I gave it gas to rev the motor to 2,000 rpm and took my foot off the gas. The rpms dropped to 300rpm and slowing went to 800rpm and it was shacking[:@] So what do you all think it is?
