Default Modifying my CAI

so i have a MAC CAI fenderwell style and ive heard things about how making that turn right before the MAF causes problems with the readings and milage to drop, my question is, is there a kit somewhere that i can just remove that bend into the fenderwell and turn it into a "straight shot system"?

Yes and no. There is no kit to modify the one you have. I had the same problem. I replaced it with a Steeda kit about 6 weeks ago. I have no regrets.

yea for real, i bought it back when i first started modding my car, but then i realized how hard it was to service them and how much smaller those filters are compared to the big mouth ones that steeda makes, ideally i would like to go with the C&L kit but i dont have that kinda cash right now

yea i totally understand. I regret ordering the CAI from mustangtuning i should have went with the desencharger because its better. The one i have now is perfectly fine no problems with it so. But now i know what not to buy if a friend asks whats the best CAI or whatever.

Yeah, ive heard the densecharger is the best to go with. I know how much of a pain those fenderwall kits can be, I have one and hate it .

yea, ive got a mac fenderwell kit on my stang too.. i hate it. the filter is way to small and the tubing gets real hot and the turn infront of the maf isnt to good either. i do have a 90mm maf though without calibrating... that may not help me either....

Is it really that bad? Arent the stock 99-04 GT intakes fenderwell anyways?

Im about to upgrade to a tunable induction kit. Will I regret it?
