so the other day I was driving my mustang and I heard I loud crack come from the rear end I recently bought the vehicle used and did not know of any issues before I bought it, any who I took it to a mechanic shop and said a tac weld on my rear end hard broken loose and I just wanted to know if anyone knows what the weld is he is talking about and to see if anyone knows where and if I can get it fixed. thank you for your help

Im gonna guess the rear control arm mount broke on the axle housing. But that's a guess

best bet would be to get under there and take a pic of it and post it up on here so some one can see exactly what broke.

Yep, I was guessing upper control arm torque box on the body side. A problem like that is CRITICAL and must be fixed properly.
