Default Intake manifold Gasket - Cobra vs GT (1997)

How much will the process be different between the 4v and the 2v 4.6? I have a lower intake manifold leak and am looking for a DIY for the Cobra replacement.

they are completely different. Make sure you can even get the Lower intake gaskets before you go tearing into it
You need to get the gasket set that goes in between the Head and IMRC and their is a set between the IMRC and Intake. Their is also one in between the hat and lower intake.
The one most people have a very hard time locating is the set that goes in between the heads and IMRC's

Default what is the IMRC?

Intake manifold.....R.....C....? If like any other ford, one gasket on upper to plenum, and one below the intake at the heads. Do the 4V and 2V share the same block?
I am able to do this repair as I have rebuilt a few in my day, just never an OHC or DOHC.

Default Got it

Intake Manifold Runner control, not an issue. This is not my DD and at the end of September it goes off the road, both for weather and repair. The gas mileage has been crap so I know this is needed. How do I know it is the lower intake manifold gasket? I did what I like to call a reverse smoke test. Brake fluid sprayed into suspect area when running, change in idle RPM's as brake fluid mist is sucked in, confirmed in two spots on lower intake.

If anyone has a schematic or a DIY of manifold or gasket replacement for 4V, send it my way. I will have a whole winter for this repair and have a fullly equipt garage (mine) to complete.
