Default Transmisson issues

Ok. So heres the deal. I have a 02 GT with a trasmission issue. It grinds going in to 3rd. I know that it is most likey an issue with the synchro. So this is where i need input. this is a daily driver so i cant have it down for more then a week at most. I can get my hands or a rebuilt stock tr3650 for about 880, i can rebuild mine(but idk if just the synchro is bad or if theres more damage), or (and this is off the wall) i pick up a used tr3650 out of a newer 05-10 gt and and trying to make it fit my car (idk if this is possiable). Any ideas. And how hard is it to rebuild a tr-3650
