Ford will do it free of charge if you are still in warrenty. If you are out they will do it with a little bit or pressure.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what problems will I run into if it doesn't get fixed? Money's tight right now and as I mentioned, it is fine once the car warms up.

You'll need a new transmission if you don't get it taken care of. Unless you bought extended warranty Rafkin, your 02 GT is out of warranty and they will not touch it.
