I have a 2002 Mustang GT and my fuse blew for my lighter socket a few weeks ago. I replaced it with a 20amp fuse (which it is what has always been) and then just a week after it stopped working again. I replaced the fuse again but it didn't didn't fix the issue. It would light up the LED light for both my phone charger and radar detector but it would not charge or turn them on. They both worked fine (same exact chargers) before and I have tried them in other vehicles and they work perfect. I ended up buying a ford cigarette lighter socket from the dealership and I just installed it. I am still having the same issue, there is enough power to light up the LED lights but not to charge or turn on my radar detector on. Any thoughts?

 

Possibly something going on with your radar dectector? have you tried any other devices?

 

My car charger does the same thing and both of them work fine in other vehicles just not mine
