Default To Clutch, or not To Clutch.

Im at a crossroads with the restoration of my Saleen. Im at the point of putting the trans back in the car. I was told by the previous owner (my cousin. Reliable source) that the clutch is good and there were no problems with it. It looks good, has alot of meat on the disk, but, Im never sure about used clutches.
Im on a budget trying to get the most for my money and get this car done. Im putting in a new FRPP throwout and pilot bearing.
Whats your take on this issue? Its an S/C car btw...been sitting for years, and its unknown if the car will even fire.
My take is: put in the old because itll save $300 if the car doesnt run. If it does run....a clutch swap is easy peasy....

I agree with your thinking, save the money now, swapping a clutch takes time but isnt expensive.
