Default Alternator problem

I have 96 GT. I am struggling with some type of an electrical issue that I am hoping some one has experienced. The car was fine with no apparent issues and all of a sudden it died in the road. When jumped it immediately started but died about 20 seconds after removing the jumper cables. Looking at the alternator we found what appeared to be a bad 3 wire plug and replaced it. The car ran good for a wek or so and then died again - same scenario. After charging the battery it was fine for about a week and died again. Based upon Autozone analysis... We replaced the alternator. Worked great for a week and same story. autozone then said that the battery terminal were shot. We reolplaced them with no luck - same problem a week later. Tested alternator and no output. Replaced the alternator no improvement. Now the battery was shot form the abuse - another $150.
There is no charge at the alternator. Can anyone suggest what could be the problem?

Thanks for your help.
