I have noticed a MASSIVE differences between spark plugs on at least one occasion.

When I did my first 4V swap in my 02GT I used the 4V engine from a 1998 Mark VIII and I had one helluva time getting it started. I used the Autolites, Champions, Bosch copper, platinums etc. It would crank and crank and crank and not start until it wanted to but once it was fired up it would run just fine.

On the day I was to meet a tuner at the local dyno shop to put the coon tune on the machine I couldn't get the car to crank for love nor money so I called the tuner who was already en-route and he came by the house. The first thing he did was hand me a set of NGK racing plugs to install and when I did it was like night and day. It cranked right up and purred like a kitten. He put his tune on the car and did that voodoo that he do and everything was great.

A couple weeks later curiosity go the better of me and I reinstalled the Bosch plugs that were previously in there just to see what would happen and sure enough, the cranking problems were just like before. I reinstalled the NGK's and never looked back.

As far as any power gains? Nah. Didn't see any gains but as far as starting, there was a world of difference.
