midpipe????

RE: midpipe????
Catted X would be really good. It wouldn't be too insanley loud you would notice a nice power gain. You may get a better overall sound quality out of a catted H though. It's up to you but if you want good power and sound the catted X is perfect...

RE: midpipe????
there isn't that much power diffence between a x and a h pipe just go with what you like check the pipes boost section there is a sticky for sound clips. the x is a hight pitched and screams when you are on the gass the h is louder and lower pitched.

RE: midpipe????
The only way to really get that nice idle sound is Cams, which are hella expensive.
I will be doing this down the road to add to my sound, but the best idle I have ever heard is this one here:
http://www.mustangtuningforums.com/s...ead.php?t=5599
That is a 97 GT with a full exhaust system, it gives you the specs in the beginning. This pertains to what your looking for.
This is the setup I am going with... By far the loudest and (I think) nicest sounding idle I have ever heard, from a full exhaust system. With cams it will be even nicer, but your not looking for cams right now so disregard that
I too want a loud idle, and this is the best Ive heard.
And you say you like it loud.. People have called me "insane", "suicide" for going with this setup.. LT's, o/r X and LM1's.
But I could care less because I want it to be VERY loud which is what I will be getting from this setup. The loudest out there by far, and I love the sound of it too. So if your looking for REAL REAL loud, this is your setup.. Otherwise search around the forums.. Others have done some Y-pipe work that is not as loud.
Check it out.

RE: midpipe????
yea i heard cams make it idle nice, but i dont have the money right now, and i want to finish exhaust first. that 97 sounds pretty nice ill look into it, but he has headers too wouldnt that change up the noise alot

RE: midpipe????
Yea headers do change up the noise a little.
See personally I just like to bring my car to shows.. Im not aiming for huge performance gains because Im not going to race my 00' GT because its a convertable..
Headers don't make THAT much of a difference from what Ive heard, but the stock manifolds are WAY to restrictive.. So therefore when all is said and done, if you have a midpipe and a cat-back, yes the headers do contribute pretty well to the full sound.
I am doing the full exhaust system for christmas, then down the road Im going to do the cams... That will pretty much complete my sound.
Then I want to get some additional body work done, and then Ill turn into an accessory head and keep my car when Im older to show my kids and have my "show car." So yea thats my plans..
