Default would this work?

i read a article that was saying that the 5.4s and 4.6s have the same bore just different strokes, and they are very similar so if is bought a 5.4 crank rods and pistons could i have a 5.4L gt or no cause someone said that 4.6s manifolds don't work on a 5.4 so theier would be differences somewhere

the 5.4/4.6 use the same pistons. the 5.4 block is longer due to the longer stroke, if you bought 5.4 internals and put them in a 4.6 the pistons would stick out because the stroke is longer. i am building a 5.4, you can check my cardomain if you want, its all on pg 11 and 12

They sell stroker kits for a 4.6 to make it 5.1 liters. I think thats the most most you can get out of a 4.6, I may be wrong. I know you can also get 358 cubic inches out of a 5.4 liter with a stroker, mabye more though. You could always buy a 5.4 liter short block and put your heads on it, and have a machine shop make you two spacers for your intake manifold. I saw in one of my mustang magazines they did that.

How much do these kits cost & where can you get me some information on them?

pick up a issue of 5.0, there is always adds from DSS and other good Motor companys that make 5.0 Stroker kits, also try ebay. i dotn know why you would want to get a 4.6 Stroker, a much better rought is a 5.4 DOHC, you get even more stroke and a 4V.

I want to work w/the engine I have now as everything else I can possible do to is has been done. Before I get another larger engine I'd be faster car. I don't plan on keeping this car long enough to warrant another engine. But thank you for the heads up about DSS.
