It could be the starter if there is just one click when you turn the key. If you get several clicks at once it's the battery. Does the car turn over?

i dont want to offend you but try letting a car thats on with some rpm's cook your battery before you start it. also shut everything off especially the a/c and radio. see if that helps ya

Have someone get underneath there and tap the starter with a screwdriver or something while your cranking it over, somethimes the starter will stick depending on the miles you have.

It's definetely the battery. Put a new one in and it will work if you can't charge yours or jump it. If the car started to turn over the first time the starter has engaged but the battery does not have enough to turn the engine over. You may be able to jump it still but like Jrock said give the jumper some rpms and let it sit on there for a while running to get some juice to transfere to your car or throw a charger on it to see if it will hold a charge.

Yeah, i say its the battery, its probably dead. I would try to jump it and see if that works..if not then its the starter.

Sounds like your battery is low, The clicking you hear is a solanoid trying to engage the starter but there isnt enough power to crank it. Try jump starting your car again, let your battery charge up for a while though.
