Default Suspension 101 for me

Suspension

Junkyard fox body 4cyl front springs
V8 rear springs
Strang 10-way adj fox front struts
Monroe sensi-trac rear shocks
Cheap sub frame connectors
Cheap eBay upper/lower control arms
No front sway bar or quad shocks

Awhile-back Jdan posted all the mods he had on his 02 GT before it got banged up. I had some questions about a few things on the list. Are the ā€œV8 rear springsā€ from a fox body or just aftermarket lowering springs? On the Strange struts, do they need to be made for a fox or just any 99+? What does removing the sway bar do for you? What or where are quad shocks?

if you get good aftermarket control arms, you can ditch the quad shocks. quad shocks are needed to keep the POS lower control arms from flexing (they are made of sheet metal) during acceleration.

the sway bar is removed from the front so that more weight transfer can be achieved. you sacrifice cornering.

So are the quad shock in the rear? When you say lower control arms do you mean front or back?

yeah, I mean rear.

I wouldn't bother doing anything with the front besides springs and struts, but that's just me. the quad shocks are a kluge fix to the bad geometry of the pre-05 sold axle. it's not a good design from the factory.

So was JD talkin about the rear sway bar? I know he said front but...

And what about the "V8 rear springs"?

Front sway bar and as far as rear springs, stock 99+ will do just fine. Just make sure the rear shocks are Fox body shocks (V8).
