Default help.. cobra has a problem

so comign home from driving yesterdaywe noticed trails of oil in my driveway...well seems as though it leaks all 6 quarts of synthetic oild we put in last week... does not seem to be the new oil filter either.... so were not too sure and were taking it to a mechanic as soon as we can...

also we put 3 more quarts in it just to be safe as it sat in the garage... well we backed it out today so we can move in the garage better to get some stuff... step dad just came upstairs to tell me after he pulled it back in.. left about a quart of oil in my driveway... soooo.... does anyone have any idea what it could be...

as we looked yesterday there is no oil all over the block.. just seems like it would be a steady stream leaking down... its not all over the place.. just in a certain spot, kinda behind the oil filter...

im hoping this isnt major and is not a big fix...

are you sure you put the screw back in tight enough to hold the oil after you changed the oil, or did you even put it back in?

sounds like the old oil filter gasket (o-ring) was left in by accident when the new filter and o-ring was put in..

You're going to have to remove the new oil flter and check to make sure there aren't any obstructions on the gasket mounting surface.
