xx9gt6xx if that was true, he should put on 4.30 or a 4.56. Bigger isn't better, depends on what you're looking for. Every gear is good in it's own way. Like I said i couldn't decide so im goin in the middle. There are people that will put nothing but a 3.73 and people that would put nothing but a 4.10 in it, and others that swear by a 4.30.

very intelligent post. My buddy had an 03 GT with 4.10s and at the track it ran out of breath way too fast. with Nitto Drags he ran 13.5 @ only 100 with a 1.8 60', but the end of his 3rd and 4th gear didnt pull good at all. However if you're going to do nitrous and choose 4.10s, ur garenteed a 12 with DRs as long as u do a decent shot. Stock i think 4.10s were too much in his car, but with a power adder it will probably be mingya nice. His car was pretty fun on the street tho, amazing out of the hole as u might imagine, but im sure it would be with 3.73s as well...

If you want high 12's u can get them with 4.30, aftermarket midpipes non catted, Intake plenum/TB, computer tune, intake, some drag radials and lower control arms. All of which is a lot safer then nitrous. I was never a fan of nitrous. Oh that setup was givin to me by MarkWondi off of Modular Mustangs tech forum, who also has a outlaw drag car - so the guy must know something about mustangs. Also keep in mind, i've seen 500hp mustangs run 14's in the qtr mile... It's all in the driver
