Default 1996 mustang gt problem

under hard braking there's like a loud popping noise coming from under my feet. anyone ever had this problem it's only under hard braking (like someone pulls out in front of you) normal stops are ok.

Check you're master cylinder levels? Is you're car equipped with ABS?

yes it has abs. i'm thinking it's the wheels slipping but it's never done it before.

could be a few things. do you have custom wheels? any suspension work? your camber might be off. you may just need some new bushings.

That sounds like the problem my car had.

It started out popping/creaking under heavy breaking then got progressively worse...

It was the bushings on the lower front control arms...

my car did this too. i had just put my wheels on, and it threw my camber off and put a lot of strain on them. i fixed it, re aligned it with a camber kit, and it went away.

now with my new suspension it's doing it again, my camber is maxed to keep my wheels aligned. 8.5 inch wide rims in the front is too much for my setup, i got to go smaller. so sometime after taxes im gonna sell my cobras and switch to bogarts.
