camber bolts
If I lower my car 2 inches, is a camber bolt enough to correct steering geometry, or are the camber/caster plates necessary...My main objective is not to make my car a road racer...I just want the car to look good, and handle better....And I don't want to eat the expensive tires I have on order!!!

the best thing you can do is buy a camber kit that will allow you to correct it. i had to put one on my car, cost like $18. it came with different size bolts to allow the shop to align my car accordingly. any good alignment shop should be able to do this, if they will work on lowered cars. do this immediately, i had power steering rack problems as well from my alignment being off. went through 2 of them, the last one was leaking badly, had to keep putting fluid in.

why would caster camber effect your rack and pinion?

it wasnt so much that as it was the alignment being off. by putting a camber kit in it i fixed my alignment and it stopped that problem. i dunno how it did it, i dont know anyone else who's had the problem, but i tore up two of them before i got my alignment right. no problems anymore.

I saw those bolts when I was lowering my car but I decided to go with the MM cc plates. Those eccentric bolts seem like they would work but the mm cc plates are extremely nice and are definitely the sweet set up well worth the extra $150.

i would think it was something else tearing up the racks. unless the toe was bad off but you would have eaten up tires like they where cookies if it was bad enough to hurt the rack.

noy alot of mileage involved. the 2nd one went real fast. but yea, there was some irregular tire wear. every shop i've taken it to, my mechanic, a ford guy, ( he hand built an 11 second 01 GT, forged internals, heads, 100 shot, etc...) my engine builder, steen racing, the shop that aligned it, and another guy next door to my mechanic. they all told me my wheels are 1/2 inch too wide up front, and that narrower wheels and re adjusting my new suspension will get rid of all my bumps and rattles. the alignment is good now, but the wheels are too big, the QA-1 kit will fit better with a nice 15x4 inch bogart.
and of course, these problems all magically started when i put my cobra wheels on, and magically went away when i fixed the camber and got the alignment right. so change the wheels and the bumps and rattles up front will stop, and i can take some of the pressure off my camber. it is maxed out. the springs even hit the strut tower (i think it is) going over bumps.
it's all so confusing, its been a while so i dont recall everything exactly. i just want it to stop.[:@]
