Shame Shame on me today I test drove a 2005 GTO and I loved it! Never thought I would say it but I just can not get over getting rid of my Mustangs! Im still yet to test drive a 06 mustang GT do you think I should wait guys or get the GTO. Remember if I do I got to leave my 01 GT do you think I should wait and get the GTO in 06 as an 05 model and keep my 01 GT? Or do you think I need to buy a 06 Mustang GT and keep my 01? If I get the GTO in the Spring I can keep my 01 GT or if I get the 06 Mustang GT i can keep my 01 also. But the thing is GTO or Mustang GT or mybe 04 Cobra? What do you think?[&:]

 

GM is struggling to survive and the GTO was a flop. The only thing you have going for you is the LS2(?) under the hood. There are already rumors about halting the GTO production.

Quite frankly...I am suprised you would ask which to get "06 Mustang or GTO" on a Mustang message board. You will more then likely get a biased response...ya think?

Save your dough and splurge for the 06/07 Cobra...if it ever comes out.

 

Get the GTO... It doesnt look all that spectacular; however I think the new mustangs looks bloated...it looks like a fat pig. The more i see them the more i dislike them.

Other than looks, the GTO is much much faster than the GT.



The real question is... should get get an 04 cobra or the 05 GTO. I'd say get the GTO jsut because you have an 01 GT that you would be keeping; and it would be a very similar body style, sort of the same car in a way.

Id go 04 Cobra just because its my dream car. But like CZ said above it should be between the GTO and the Cobra forget the 06GT, not a big fan of the body style and the Cobra and GTO would blow it away.

 

It's not even economical for him especially when they do finally release it the markup is going to be huge. Plus it looks like hell my god. I think the regular GT's look better.

I think that GTO looks terrible. I would get a Charger before I got that and the Charger is a 4 door. I think you should buy this built Mach1. The guy is asking 35K and this car is the real deal not some kinda quick Grand Am. Brand new motor too!

The GTO is a great car, but it also has a 400hp engine. Not comparable to your gt in all honesty. For a cheaper price you can buy the 2004 SC Cobra, or a built Mach 1. The Goat is ugly as sin in my opinion, if you want to spend 35-40k, you could always go find an older TT Supra. Although for bang for the buck, i'd either look for either that built Mach 1 (which is underrated 305hp) or the SC Cobra. Could also contact Brandon Ford here in Tampa, Florida and buy a 2004 440A Roush they're goin for just under 40 now I think - incredible cars. As far as the GT500, if anyone expects that car to sell for under 50k, you're dreamin!!!!

 

i've been in the new gto's and really they are "fast" but all it really did was spin the tires when we took off and had ****ty handling could have been the driver but just seems sloppy. What are you people thinking the 06-07 cobra is friggin beautiful a very amazing car. Either wait for the new gto or get thte 04 cobra which is nice and what would be even nicer would be to wait for the new cobra.
