Default Mid-pipe or Cat-back Dilemma

I`m gonna have about $400 that I`d like to spend towards the exaust upgrade on my 99 GT.
What would make me more happy in terms of power and sound ?
I`m considering getting either catted bassani x-pipe and run it with a stock catback for now or getting SLP cat-back and running it with stock midpipe.
If i pick x-pipe I will be able to install that myself? and if I pick catback then i`ll have to pay sb elso to do this work.
What is better for me for now ? Thanks

catback will make you happy sound wise, x pipe will make you happy performance wise. you won't really feel the difference in power the X will make, but it'll give you about 7HP or so. the catback is about half that. get the catback first.

i agree, i just got my bassani cat-backs on and they sound great and the cars seems to run better, psychological maybe? It no sounds like what an 8cyl mustang should sound like, so that is satisfying. I have the x on order so will see how much more performance it adds.
