Default squeakin breaks

the brakes were squeaking pretty bad at times so I sanded the rotors down with rough sandpaper and it helped alot is this problem going to come back? Ive got alot of brake pads left I just dont want it to start squeaking again when I get new brakes in a while

Sanded the rotors?!

Hah, you should get new rotors and a set of cheapy brake pads if you plan on doing an upgrade in the future. I doubt those rotors are any good now after you took sand paper to'em.

You didn't specify exactly how you sanded them LOL

You can lightly sand the surface, which will eliminate some squeeling. You had me laughing, thinking you took some 60 or 80 grit and really carved those babies up.

your problem is probably cheap break pads either that or you have a set of pads ment for the track. i am leaning tward cheapies. i don't think you hurt you rotors but heres what i would do. have the rotors turned and buy a set of wagner thermo quiet pads. garanted no to squeel if they do they will replace for free. life time garanteed if they wear out you get a free set. and they reduce break dust but no garrantes.

I've took some light sand paper to my rotors many times while changing the brakes just to take the glaze off. It won't hurt at all and should actually help, your Grandpa is no newbie to cars and he knows what he's talking about. Usually when you buy new brake pads they give you some sealer type compound to put behind the pad to keep it from squeeking. I'm not sure if they sell it separetely but some silicone should work about the same. They may sell the stuff at an autoparts store though. Try that, it may work.

voodoo.. CRC sells the stuff in a bottle, its enough for like a million brake jobs though. I know it autozone they sell tiny like 1 job packets of different sealers and such for lieka 1-2$ a piece. Worth checking out. Are the pads just worn?????? Alot of(if not all) pads have wear indidcators that squeak, and its amazing how many people dont even bother to look.

I'm sure it would go away if you put on some good pads and cut the rotors. The reason it's sqeaking is because both the pads and rotors are probobly all glazed. Those pads are probobly hard as hell. I want to get some HP pads myself cuz my brakes suck. The better pads may create more dust and wear faster but will stop the car better.
