Mileage With 3.73 over Stock 3
What's up forums? I am going to pick up my car today from having an x-pipe and catback installed. I was thinking about gears for my next mod. My car is an everyday driver (and I'm sure you're all tired of the same questions) so I wanted to know how bad was the fuel mileage change with 3.73's from those who have them? Right now I'm able to average about 300 miles per tank if I ring the tank down to 1.5 to 2 gallons.

is going to be a little less efficient..but who cares, you are driving a v8 stang, come on, fuel efficiency should not be an issue...........if it is, get a six banger, not!

I'm not that worried about the mileage; just curious how bad the change would be. No way I'd go with a six banger; love that 8 too much! Yeah I do baby that car; try the Amsoil synthetic oil; I think that's what's halping my mileage. But the 300 miles is when I empty the tank and the fuel light comes on. Thanks for the replies.

Just so you all know, it is hard on fuel pumps when you run your cars low on gas. The fuel that is in your tank is what keeps your pumps cool. I would recommend not letting your tanks get any lower than 1/8th left. Preferrably 1/4.Letting your gas tanks run low takes life from your pump. Just a heads up.

yeah, I've seen that in the owners manual. I try to keep it pretty full, but the DC area is so spread out, sometimes you end up having to stretch fuel a little further than you'd like. Thank you for the heads up though.
