Default Cheap Mods??

Hola ... As mentioned a few weeks ago my girlfriend just got an 04 GT 5-Speed (I believe the stock rear-end is 3.27:1) . We are really GM people but came across a deal on this stang we couldn't resist.

SO..This brings me to my questions ... cheap mods?

I have been reading this board and came across the mod "removing air silencer" ... how do I go about doing this? Being that it is her car and we don't live together, I have looked under the hood for nomore than about 5 seconds - so I am somewhat unfamiliar with Ford, but have modded a couple of LS1's.

I know there are unlimited mods that I can do to the car, but for right now the fundage is not available after a large down-payment.

So what are some "cheap" mods? And what should be done first?

I have gatherred that a good X pipe and new mufflers would be a good idea (don't have the money for nice headers too), and gears are prolly on the way in a few months.

Thanks for the help and all ideas!

Stock rear end is in fact 3.27:1.

To remove the air silencer take off the air box from the MAF by unclipping it. Then remove the screw holding to the body panel. Then you can pull the air filter, cover, and air snout (silencer) from inside the fenderwell. Just disconnect the air silencer from the air box and reinstall the air filter. While your at it, get a K&N filter to replace the stock one.

I have one to sell cheap if your interested.
