Default Uneven steering wheel

I have a 2004 Mustang GT purchased new. I just noticed several days ago that the steering wheel is not completely straight. The steering wheel is tilted towards the door...does anyone know anything about this or are your Mustangs the same? Thanks

Go get an alignment. They will be able to straighten the steering wheel as well when they do it.

Just to make sure that everybody knows what I am talking about...the steering wheel is not off center as far as being turned, it points straigt ahead...the left side of the steering wheel is actually closer to the dash than the right side...almost like the left side of the steering wheel was pushed towards the dash and the right side was pulled away from the dash...

drob, i've noticed the same thing. gt96stang, it's not an alignment issue. the steering wheel, if you were to hold it at 3 & 9 o'clock, you would have your left arm slightly further extended than the right. I believe it is for entry/exit from the seat. So, no you aren't crazy, I noticed it the first month I had mine back new in oct '03.

Yes, I understand now when he clarified it. Drob, I apologize for my misunderstand of what you wrote. I guess I have never really noticed that though. Going to have to look at it tomorrow.

no problem man, I personally think that every stang owner should know as much about their car as possible. I find it strange that more of the guys in the forum haven't noticed it. let's wait and see...[8D]

thats just like if you look at mustangs from the front the older they get the more the seat lean. from pushing and slidding yourself in and out .

I've noticed that the wheel isn't a perfect circle, but never that it appeared bent towards the dash.
