BFG Drag Radial T/A Tire Issue! HELP!
well.. lets see.. I was on the way home from school when someone pointed out to me on the highway that I had a flat tire. Does anyone run 17 x 10.5 Drag Radials? I run BFG Drag Radial T/A's and was just wondering how long do they usually last? It looks like the tires are pretty worn.. I only had them maybe .. tops 4,000 Miles. I know Drag Radials wear faster.. but not that fast! anyone else have this issue? or maybe can tell me wats going on... It looks like a worn ring is around the outside of the tire. The back passenger tire is the one that is flat. The drivers side one looks like its developing the wear as well.. can someone fill me in please!

Yea, a lot of people say that the BFG's will only last that long. They are a softer compound so it wears faster. Even nitto's d/r are supposed to be only good for 12k max. It all depends on how you drive on them.

that doesnt explain the uneven wear though...
ive got MT's with about 3K and they look perfect
i cant imagine even your alignment beign off would cause that kind of wear in just one spot (the same spot) on two tires
hope you get that figured out man, losing DR's is no fun (and i havent even lost any yet[>:])

^Yeah I have BFG DR's in the rear... 315/35/17's
and they will last about 6k miles.
They are very soft compound and 4k miles is not "abnormal" amount of time for them to be worn down.
of course depending on you are driving with them

I dont get it.. er.. all I know is im gonan spend some good money on getting new Radials now.. and not to mention.. I was trading this thing in possible Saturday for my new car.. Go figuare...

could be a lot of things causing weird wear on the outside area of the tires, like them not being balanced or not being inflated right or being on a rim that is not the right size...
front tires wear on the edges from cornering, but I don't know if that would be true for the rears as well.
